Privacy Policy

What's In My Kitchen ("the App") is developed and operated by Faintech Solutions SRL, a company registered in Romania (the "Controller", "we", "us"). This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how you can control it. Contact us at faintechsolutions@gmail.com for any privacy request.

1. Data we collect

• Account data: email address and authentication identifiers, used to create and secure your account.
• Kitchen inventory data: the products, quantities, and expiry dates you add or scan — this is the App's core function.
• Barcode / label scans: processed on-device using your phone's camera; we do not upload photos of your products to our servers. Only the resulting product data (name, barcode, expiry date) is stored.
• Push notification token: a device identifier used only to deliver expiry-reminder notifications to your device.
• Subscription status: whether your household is on the free or premium plan, managed via RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your payment card details — these are handled entirely by Apple/Google.
• Advertising identifier: on the free plan only, and only with your consent where required by law (see Section 4).

2. Why we process this data

To provide the App's core functionality (contract performance): tracking your kitchen stock, calculating expiry, sending reminders, and managing your subscription. Where advertising is shown, processing is based on your consent.

3. Who we share data with

• Supabase (self-hosted): our database and authentication backend, operated on infrastructure we control.
• RevenueCat: subscription and entitlement management.
• Google AdMob: displays ads to free-plan users only.
• Apple Push Notification service / Firebase Cloud Messaging: delivery of expiry reminder notifications.
• TheMealDB: public recipe catalog used to suggest meals from product names already in your pantry. We send ingredient names, not your account.

We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

4. Advertising & tracking

Free-plan users may see ads served through Google AdMob. On iOS, we request your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework before using any cross-app identifier for personalized ads; if you decline, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized. Premium subscribers never see ads.

5. Data retention

We retain your account and inventory data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is permanently removed within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it longer.

6. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing faintechsolutions@gmail.com from the address associated with your account. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Children

The App is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
